In the north of China, in dry places, static electricity on human body is the factor that causes static electricity to damage electronic components. Although if you are hit by static electricity, it is only slight numbness, but it is fatal to PLC and any other electronic devices.

There are three ways to avoid the impact of static electricity: when repairing or replacing components, please touch the grounded metal first to remove the static electricity on your body; Do not touch the connector or IC pin on the circuit board; When the electronic components are not in use, please use the packaging with static electricity isolation to place the components inside. Imagine that the components in the PLC are a delicate baby, and those static electricity will cause the baby to die, so you will be easier to treat this problem with a correct attitude.

During base installation (RACK), after determining the position of various control components and trunking in the control box, the hole position shall be calibrated according to the dimensions shown in the drawing, and the fixing screws shall be tightened until the base is firm after drilling. Before installing the power supply module, pay attention to whether the grounding terminal on the power line is connected with the metal casing. If not, connect it. Poor grounding will cause a series of problems, such as static electricity, surge, external interference, etc. Because the PLC can work without grounding, many inexperienced engineers mistakenly think that grounding is not so important. It’s just like climbing without a protective rope. Although the protective rope has no effect when you move forward normally, once you stumble, without that rope, your life is over. The grounding of PLC is equivalent to tying the protection cable to PLC.

During the installation of I/O modules, the following items should be noted: Before inserting the I/O modules into the slots on the rack, you should first confirm whether the modules are the modules you have designed in advance; When inserting the I/O module into the guide slot on the rack, be sure to insert it to the bottom to ensure that all contact points are closely connected; The module fixing screws must be locked tightly; After the terminal block is inserted, its upper and lower screws must be tightened. Due to the influence of transformers and motors on site, there will be more or less vibration. If these screws are loose, the module will be loosened from the rack.
