After the conditions were put forward, it immediately caused a development boom. In 1969, Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) developed the first programmable controller in the world and applied it to the production line of General Motors. At that time, it was called Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), which was used to replace relay to perform logic judgment, timing, counting and other sequential control functions. Then, American MODICON Company also developed a controller with the same name. In 1971, Japan introduced this new technology from the United States and soon developed the first programmable controller in Japan. In 1973, Western European countries also developed their first programmable controller.

Description

Product Description
IC698PSA350 is a PACSystems Power Supply Module produced by GE Fanuc for the RX7i series. This module delivers +5 VDC, +12 VDC, and -12 VDC power. In addition, it sends logic level sequencing signals to modules on the backplane. The module plugs into slot 0 in the main rack.

The IC698PSA350 module’s power supply output may lose one AC input line cycle while maintaining output power. Overcurrent and overvoltage fault protection is provided in addition to electronic short circuit protection. The module permits 100 watts total output power at ambient temperatures of 0 to 60ºC without forced air cooling.

Output voltages are as follows: +5 VDC output to 60 amps, +12 VDC output to 12 amps, and -12 VDC output to 4 amps.

More notable features of the IC698PSA350 module include operation from 85 to 264 VAC or 100 to 150 VDC. The module is equipped with AC operation power factor correction and easy slide-in rack mount construction.

The two-position On/Off logic level switch can be found on the front faceplate. It has the capability to enable or disable output channels and will not disturb the AC line input. Important warning: Lethal voltages are present in the module when input power is present.

Green LED indicators on the IC698PSA350 module monitor the status of field and output. These will turn ON when power is applied within the acceptable range and when DC output channels are operating correctly. A red LED specific to this module will alert the user if critical supply temp is too high or if there is an issue with airflow.
