Description
The Modicon Quantum 140CPU31110 is a Unity processor with 548 Kb of RAM and a clock frequency of 66 MHz. The module has a total of 3 communication ports – two Modbus (RS-232) and one Modbus Plus (RS-485). The bus current requirment is 1250 mA, and this CPU module features a slide switch versus a key switch. The 140CPU31110 can support a maximum of two NOM, NOE, PTQ PDP MV1, and MMS modules in any combination. The module uses a Intel 486 processor, has an unlimited amaount of local I/O words, and a max of 2 local I/O racks.
The 140CPU31110 performs a number of diagnosits on start up and while running. These include RAM checks, RAM address checks, Executive Checksum, User Logic Check and Processor check (on startup only).
When used in a remote I/O setting, the processor has a 64 max I/O words per drop (64 in / 64 out). The max number of remote drops is 31. These can be a mix of discrete or register I/O. For each word of configured I/O, one of the I/O words must be deducted from the total available. When used in a distributed I/O setting, the 140CPU31110 can only have a one network per system, unless it is being used with a 140NOM21x00 option module – then it can have 3 networks per system. The max words per node are 30 in and 32 out in a distributed I/O system. Additionally, 64 is the maximum number of DIO drops per network in this configuration.
