REF601 is ABB Relion as a protection and measurement and control device ® A member of the 605 product family.

Compared with its peers, the device has excellent performance and availability, and can provide excellent configuration integrating protection, monitoring and control functions.

REF601 feeder protection and measurement and control device provides main protection for overhead line and cable feeder of distribution and secondary distribution network. In addition, the inrush current stabilization function enables the device to be used as the main protection of the distribution transformer.

As an alternative to conventional current transformers, this type of device has a Rogowski current sensor version, which helps to reduce the volume of medium voltage switchgear, improve performance and make it more standardized.

REF601 supports MODBUS RTU and IEC 60870-5-103 communication through two-wire RS485.
