There are two types of PLC internal memory: one is RAM (random access memory), which can be read and written by the CPU at any time; The other is ROM (read only memory). CPU only

Read from but not write to. RAM is mainly used to store all kinds of temporary data, intermediate results and programs being debugged by users. ROM is mainly used to store monitoring programs and programs that have been debugged by users. These programs are burned in ROM chip in advance, and can be run after startup.

It plays the role of transmitting information between PLC and peripheral equipment. The user equipment needs to input various control signals of PLC, such as limit switches, operation buttons, and the switch or analog output of some other sensors (to be input into the machine through analog-to-digital conversion), and convert these signals into signals that can be received and processed by the CPU through the input interface circuit. The output interface circuit converts the weak current signal output by the processor into the strong current signal required by the site to drive the actuator of the controlled equipment such as solenoid valve and contactor.
