Input/output module is the excuse for connecting PLC with industrial production equipment or industrial production process. On-site input signals, such as push button switch, travel switch, limit switch, and switch or analog quantity (pressure, flow, temperature, voltage, current) of sensing output, shall be sent to PLC through input module. Because these signal levels are various, and the information processed by the programmable controller CPU can only be standard levels, the input module also needs to convert these signals into digital signals that the PLC can accept and process. The function of the input module is to receive the digital signal processed by the central processing unit, and convert it into the control signal that can be received by the on-site execution unit to drive the execution mechanism such as solenoid valve, light display, motor, etc. The programmable controller has a variety of input/output modules, including digital input/output module and analog input/output module. These modules are divided into DC and AC, voltage and current types, and each type has different parameter levels, mainly including digital input/output module and analog input/output module. The components are equipped with terminal blocks. In order to filter the noise of the signal and facilitate the signal processing inside the PLC, these modules are equipped with filtering, level conversion and signal locking circuits. The digital input module is equipped with radio and television coupling circuit, which aims to isolate the PLC from the external circuit to improve the anti-interference ability of the PLC. There are three types of digital output: relay output, transistor output and thyristor output. Analog input/output module is mainly used to realize the conversion between analog and digital, namely, A/D or D/A conversion. Since some signals of sensors or actuators in the industrial control system are continuously changing analog quantities, these analog quantities must be connected to the central processor of PLC through analog input/output module. The binary digital quantity converted from analog input module A/D is connected via the 1/0 bus of optocoupler and output latch device PLC. At present, the analog voltage of the standard range is mainly 0-5V and 0-10V. In addition, there are: 0-somV, 0-IV, – 5 -+SV, – 10 -+10V, 0-10mA, etc. The analog input module receives analog voltage or current monkey of standard range, converts it into 8-bit, 10-bit or 12-bit binary digital signal, and sends it to the central processor for processing. The analog output module converts the binary digital signal of the central processor into the voltage or current output signal of the standard range and provides it to the actuator.
