About IC670CHS001
The IC670CHS001 is a terminal block module from the Field control series, formerly by GE Fanuc, now under Emerson Automation. This module comes with barrier style terminal blocks which accommodate signal wires to and from electrical loads and signaling devices. It provides modular connectivity as this module permits removal and insertion of hosted I/O modules without the need of removing the existing wiring connections.
The IC670CHS001 also provides backplane communication as this module comes embedded with connector that attaches to the adjacent terminal block module. This terminal block module is capable of hosting up to Two (2) modules, supporting discrete I/O and analog I/O modules.
The IC670CHS001 comes with a total of 37 termination points. Each terminal can accommodate up to Two (2) wires with size range of #14 (2.1 mm2) through AWG #22 (0.35 mm2) wires. Applicable wire insulation rating is 90 Degree Celsius while the recommended tightening torque is 8 in-lb. For wiring of the ground terminal, applicable wire size is AWG #14 (avg 2.1mm2 cross section) and must not exceed 4 inches or 10.16 cm in length.
This terminal block module support DIN rail or panel mounting in horizontal orientation. With the use of the IC670CHS001, hot insertion and removal in non-hazardous application areas can be implemented when installed with an appropriate Bus Interface Unit (BIU) specifically, BIU modules with firmware version of 2.1 or later. For connection of one or more terminal bases, compatible pre-assembled cables for use are IC670CBL001. In addition, auxiliary terminal block may also be attached to this module to provide extra grounding, signal return and signal common connections.
The GE Fanuc Field Control IC670CHS001 is a barrier style terminal block that can have host up to Filed Control modules. it, enabling communications between modules connected into its backplane and serving as endpoint terminals for connections to external field devices. They support the installation of 2 modules. These modules are mechanically screwed to the GE Fanuc IC670CHS001 I/O base in order to avoid accidental disconnections due to equipment vibration. The I/O base terminal block comes from the factory with protective barriers that prevent contact with adjacent cables and short circuits during the connection or disconnection of devices. An important thing to take note of is that these modules support the connection and disconnection of cabling even while the module is powered on.
There are 37 screw terminals in a GE Fanuc IC670CHS001 I/O base. Two of those terminals, marked as terminals A and B, are for power supply connections and the remaining 35 are used for individual terminal connections. The terminals can accommodate AWG #14 (2.1 square millimeters) through AWG #22 (0.35 square millimeters) cables. The GE Fanuc IC670CHS001 I/O base is keyed in order to avoid the incorrect connections of additional I/O modules. These additional modules are mounted onto the base by pressing them firmly against it once they have been placed in the right positions. It is always necessary to tighten the screws of the module into the base, in order to prevent vibrations from disconnecting the modules from the I/O base. The manufacturer recommends using a maximum torque of 8 to 10
