Functions
The IC687 Bus Transmitter Module (BTM) is used in a
FIP single rack redundancy system. It provides a path for
Redundancy communications when connected to the Redundancy Communications Module (RCM) in the other
half of the two-section redundancy rack. Each section of
this rack requires a Bus Transmitter Module and a Redundancy Communications Module. It also provides a high
performance parallel interface to the programming device.
The module occupies a single VME width slot and has
two connectors. The top one is for attachment to the programming device. The bottom one is for connection to
the Redundancy Communications Module in the other
section of the redundancy rack through the BTM to RCM
cable, IC697CBL803.
Three green LEDs provide status indication of each port
and module status.
The BTM must be configured into the FIP redundancy
system using the MS-DOSr or Windowsr programming
software configuration function.
