GE Fanuc / VMIC’s VMIVME-7700 is a full-featured ULV Celeron processor-based SBC in a single-slot, passively cooled, Eurocard form factor that utilizes the advanced technology of Intel’s 815E chipset running at a front-side bus rate of 100 MHz. The VMIVME-7700 is compliant with the VMEbus Specification Rev. C.1 and features a transparent PCI-to-VMEbus bridge, allowing the board to function as a system controller or peripheral CPU in multi-CPU systems.
With the strengthening of the network capability, the control function and control range of the programmable controller are expanding, which requires the programmable controller to realize high-speed operation and real-time communication. High speed includes high-speed operation speed, high-speed data exchange with external devices, high-speed programming device service processing, and high-speed response of external devices. In order to achieve high speed, some programmable controllers have designed communication functions in their cores. With the help of passive data buses, the bottleneck of the system can be eliminated. This structure allows multiple processors and networks to be used in one rack without restriction, thus providing a high-performance solution for distributed real-time control systems.
