(RJ45), 1Meg FLASH RAM based system executive, 512K SRAM, 16K words
of user memory, 32K words State RAM, 48K words total, 25Mhz CPU
operation, operating temperature –25 … +70C, two three position slide
switches for communication parameter selection, five LED indicators, and a
terminal strip for 24 Vdc power, and five LEDs. The Run, Ready, Modbus 1
and Modbus 2 LEDs are yellow.

(RJ45) and one Modbus Plus network interface (nine–pin), 1 Meg FLASH
RAM based system executive, 512K SRAM, 8K words of user memory, 16K
words State RAM, 24K words total, 25Mhz CPU operation, operating
temperature 0 … +60C, two three position slide switches for communication
parameter selection, two rotary switches for Modbus addressing, six LED
indicators, and a terminal strip for 24 Vdc power.

(RJ45) and one Modbus Plus network interface (nine–pin), 1 Meg FLASH

terminal strip for 24 Vdc power, and PCMCIA release 2.1 type II socket.
Note: The default operating temperature for E984–258(C) and E984–285(C) is
–25 … + 70C. To receive the operating temperature –40 … + 70C read the
Appendix ”A proposal how TSX Compact (A 120) modules designed for –25
centigrade can operate at –40 centigrade” in the 984–A120 Compact
Programmable Controllers User Guide (890 USE 108 00).
Note: E984–258/265/275/285 models are available with conformal coating. The
conformal coating models are E984–258C, E984–265C, E984–275C, and
E984–285C.
Note: The E984–258C meets Railway standard EN 50 155 because it has
yellow LEDs, extended operating temperature, conformal coated and no battery in
addition to other requirements

Schneider Automation products, is designed to provide you with years of reliable, trouble–free service.
For complete instructions regarding this unit, including specifications, please obtain a copy of Schneider
Automation’s 984–A120 Compact Programmable Controllers User Guide (890 USE 108 00) from your
distributor or local Modicon office.
Most PLCs come with:
V A terminal block removal tool (P/N AS–0TBP–000) to facilitate pulling I/O terminal blocks.
V Two front cover labels for the two position PLC unit.
V A Lithium battery (excluding the E984–258C).
V Five PCMCIA card pull–tabs (individual P/N 042710748) for better card extraction for
models with a PCMCIA option. Additional pull–tabs may be purchased in quantities of fives
(P/N 042710786).
V A 2 gram container of Nyogel for the conformal coated PLCs only
